General FAQ's

  • How do I find a tutor?

Finding a tutor through OurTuition is easy – simply navigate to the Tutors page of this website and browse through our extensive selection of qualified tutors. You can filter your search by subject, price and availability in order to find the tutors most suited to you. Explore their profiles, examine their credentials and read reviews written by their previous students.

Once you find a tutor you’re interested in, you can message them and ask for a free consultation call – use this opportunity to ask them any questions that spring to mind, and if you need any assistance then please don’t hesitate to contact our team.

  • Tutors will set their own hourly rate in accordance with their qualifications, tutoring experience and level of education taught. However, at OurTuition we strive to provide you with competitive and affordable pricing options. On average, you can expect most tutors to charge between £25-£35 per hour. In addition, our pay-as-you-go system ensures that you only pay for the lessons you book; there will never be any subscriptions or sign-up fees.

  • At OurTuition, we carefully evaluate the background, qualifications and experience of every tutor prior to their advertisement. The vast majority of our tutors also originate from Russell-Group universities and only recently graduated themselves, making them ideal candidates for tutoring as they understand the struggles of being a student!

In order to be as confident with your choice as possible, we advise that you contact every tutor you find appealing before booking a session. Message these tutors through our website, ask them for a free consultation call and get the answers to all of your questions! We also encourage you to read through the reviews of each tutor you consider, as these will be written by previous students and will help to further inform your choice.

  • The availability of every tutor is displayed on their profile and will be regularly updated so that students can pick and choose when to have a session (allowing for maximum convenience and flexibility). After finding a tutor that you’re interested in, contact them by clicking the “Message” button on their profile page. Use this messenger to interact with them and ask for a free consultation call if you have any questions. All of our tutors will conduct their lessons using Google Meets, so ensure that you are familiar with this service and have it configured to your liking.

Once you’ve decided which tutor to work with, you can schedule your first lesson through their profile. You’ll receive a confirmation email after you’ve been booked-in containing the date and time of the session alongside a Google Meets link. Follow this link when it’s time for your lesson and enjoy!

  • If you wish to become a tutor then please email “admin@ourtuition.co.uk” with your name, background, qualifications and tutoring experience – we will get back to you as soon as we can.
